MARRIAGE AND FAMILY SAVERS INSTITUTE SCHOOL OF
PUBLIC POLICY
“All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for
good men to do nothing”
--Edmund Burke 18th Century English Statesman
The Scriptures are clear: Jesus is to be Lord of all! This
includes the arena of civil government. How the Bible applies to
areas of civil government is taught in our
“ACTION SEMINARS”
Action Seminars are typically held on
Saturdays from 9:30 A.M – 4:00 P.M.
Charles Finney, the famous Presbyterian revivalist of the
Second Great Awakening said concerning the Kingdom of God,
“Every member must work or quit. No honorary
members… God cannot sustain this free and blessed country,
which we love and pray for, unless the Church will take right
ground. Politics are a part of a religion in such a country as
this, and Christians must do their duty to their country as a
part of their duty to God...God will bless or curse this nation
according to the course Christians take in
politics.”
The sad truth is that Christians have not taken right ground
regarding politics. We’ve given it over to the godless. Now
evil is called good, and good is called evil, and the Church has
become irrelevant in the day-to-day lives of most Americans.
In our Christian Action Seminars we provide the training,
equipping, and by the power of The Holy Spirit, the inspiration
to make an impact in the community for the Kingdom of God.
Through worship and praise, anointed preaching and teaching, and
specific instruction and direction we develop the spiritual and
natural gifts of believers to fulfill their calling in
God’s sovereign plan of redemption of individuals as well
as society, so that we will not be ashamed when asked,
“What real difference is our church making in our
community? Would we be missed if we were not
here?”
OBJECTIVES
1. To Provide a clear understanding of the Biblical mandate
concerning social action and the Gospel of Jesus Christ in order
to impact our communities for positive change and for the
advancement of the Kingdom of God.
2. To remind God’s people of how He has delivered and
preserved us as a nation, and to encourage believers to continue
to pass on the story of God’s grace shed upon America from
our founding till now.
3. To provide a proper understanding of the doctrine of
Separation of Church and State.
4. To equip the saints to engage in servant leadership to
their civic governments and organizations.
5. To launch new ministries, under the direction of the Holy
spirit, e.g., church liaisons, civic concerns ministries, social
needs ministries, etc

The Biblical Mandate: Personal Relationship and Social
Action.
The Pendulum has swung the other way. In reaction to the
Social Gospel we have become guilty of preaching a Gospel of
personal salvation to the exclusion of social responsibility.
Where is the balance?

The Biblical Mandate For Political Action.
Is it Biblical for Christians to get involved with politics?
Where is the line between the spiritual and the political?
What’s the responsibility of the Church and the Government?
How can we tell?

The Church and Liberty
"Remember the rock from which you were hewn... " What type of
leadership role did the Church and its clergy play throughout our
history? What should our role be today?
|
Church Liaisons and Civic Concerns Ministries
How can we train and equip believers to develop a ministry to
meet the social and political needs of our community? How can we
network together with other groups to maximize our
effectiveness.

Our Present State.
We must be as the sons of Issachar who understood the times
and knew what to do. What is the current state of the Church, and
what are some of the issues that present a threat to our faith,
our families and our freedoms?
|
Government and Politics 101
How are the various levels of government structured? What
responsibilities are given to the Federal, the State and the
local governments? How are laws made? How can we impact the
legislative process for good? How can we most effectively work to
influence legislators and civic leaders. Which methods work and
which do not?

The Mission Before us: Become a Resource Church.
It is clear that we must once again learn to "serve" the
community. We must be a resource of wisdom and benevolence so
that those who are lonely, hungry and naked will know where to
find help. Only then will we have the authority God intended for
His Church to have in the first place.

Effective Voter Education and Identification
The “Lincoln Plan” was to identify those who agree
with you and get them to the poles. Exactly how can we better
educate Christians concerning the issues and the candidates, and
get them to the poles on Election Day?
